El Gobierno boliviano anunció la próxima construcción de una industria farmacéutica que elabore medicamentos para el tratamiento del cáncer.
El vicepresidente de Bolivia, Álvaro García Linera, indicó que las personas que padezcan cáncer serán beneficiadas de los acuerdos de cooperación suscritos en materia de salud entre el Gobierno de ese país y la India.
Tras la visita a la nación suramericana del mandatario hindú, Ram Nath Kovind, fueron firmados varios acuerdos de cooperación con el presidente Evo Morales para fortalecer las relaciones bilaterales entre ambas naciones.
«Estamos armando un esquema técnico, material y científico para que los bolivianos podamos ser atendidos del cáncer en todas las especialidades; estamos construyendo un oncológico, tres hospitales de medicina nuclear, colocando implementos de detección y tratamiento de cáncer en otros hospitales», refirió el sábado García Linera.
Por su parte, Morales anunció que próximamente construirán una industria farmacéutica en Bolivia para producir medicamentos destinados al tratamiento de esta enfermedad. Dicha industria será creada mediante un crédito otorgado por la India.
«India nos está otorgando un crédito concesional de 100 millones de dólares que invertiremos en la fase inicial de implementación de una industria de medicamentos para combatir el cáncer», dijo el Ejecutivo boliviano.
Además, enfatizó que esta iniciativa permitirá reducir la importación de este tipo de medicamentos en más de un 50 por ciento, recursos que podrán ser destinados a otros programas sociales en el país.
