La Cancillería de
Venezuela reconoció que las sanciones impuestas por Estados Unidos a un grupo
de instituciones financieras de ese país, tendrán impacto directo en la clientela del Prodem en Bolivia y del Bandes Uruguay.
El pasado 22 de marzo, el Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos sancionó al Banco de Desarrollo Económico y Social de Venezuela (Bandes) y a sus subsidiarias como represalia por la detención de Roberto Marrero, jefe de Gabinete de Juan Guaidó.
En un comunicado emitido este sábado, la Cancillería venezolana admitió que “La medida también afecta de manera directa a ciudadanos de hermanos países del continente, al dirigir su ataque hacia el Banco Prodem en Bolivia y el Banco Bandes Uruguay, con más de 641.366 clientes”, dice el comunicado.
Rechazó la sanción impuesto por EEUU y las calificó de “unilaterales, coercitivas, arbitrarias e ilegales” y aseguró que “ofrece de manera engañosa una falsa ayuda humanitaria mientras ataca las fuentes de generación de recursos de Venezuela a través de sanciones directas a PDVSA y Minervan”.
Conocida la sanción la Autoridad del Sistema Financiero (ASFI) aseguró que la misma no afectaría al Banco Prodem que opera en Bolivia porque el 99,5% de sus operaciones se realizan en territorio nacional y no ejecuta operaciones de comercio exterior.
Sin embargo, el comunicado de la Cancillería de Venezuela admitió que se verán afectadas más de 23.950.280 clientes, entre personas naturales y empresas públicas y privadas de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, así como de las filiales de Bolivia y Uruguay.
