La abuela de la menor de cinco años que falleció tras ser atacada por un perro de raza rottweiler en Cochabamba fue enviada a la cárcel de San Sebastián con detención preventiva. La madre y tía de la niña fueron beneficiadas con detención domiciliaria y deberán cumplir un arraigo, así como el pago de una fianza de Bs 5.000.
“El juez ha determinado la detención preventiva para la dueña del can (la abuela) y medidas sustitutivas para la tenedora, así como también para la madre de la víctima”, informó la fiscal de materia, Cinthia Prado, en contacto con los medios.
El ataque se registró el pasado miércoles en el domicilio de la víctima, ubicado en la zona de Cerro Verde de la capital cochabambina. Las investigaciones afirman que la menor se encontraba junto a cinco canes, entre ellos el rottweiler, mientras su madre salió de compras.
Debido a la gravedad de sus heridas y a la cantidad de sangre que perdió, la menor murió en un hospital al que fue trasladada de emergencia por sus familiares.
Tras el deceso, la abuela, identificada como la dueña del can; la tía, quien alimentaba al perro, y la madre de la niña fueron arrestadas por la Policía debido a una serie de contradicciones. El perro rottweiler fue atrapado, junto a otros cuatro perros que vivían en la misma casa, por Zoonosis del municipio de Cochabamba.
“Hubo ciertas contradicciones que han generado la aprehensión de la madre. Hay otros datos que están sujetos a una investigación, cámaras de filmación que también van a ser analizados por personal de homicidios y, ojalá, esclarezcamos lo que realmente ocurrió”, dijo el director de la Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra el Crimen (FELCC) de Cochabamba, Yuri Tapia.
Según la fiscal Prado, la determinación de la detención preventiva de la abuela se debió a que no contaba con las garantías naturales para su arraigo, así como de una actividad económica lícita, que establezcan que la acusada permanezca en Cochabamba.
Asimismo, argumentó que la mujer omitió el debido cuidado de su can pese a que en el domicilio había niños. En cuanto a la tía, detalló que esta se encargaba de alimentar al perro, pero que no fue quien mantenía al perro en aquella casa; mientras que la madre fue acusada de omitir cuidados de su pequeña.

Mientras permanecía en celdas policiales, la madre de la menor solicitó entre lágrimas dejarla asistir al entierro de su hija de cinco años. En una entrevista de ATB, la mujer expresó su desconsuelo por su situación, porque su encarcelamiento la separaba de sus otros dos hijos.
“Que me devuelvan a mis hijos. Yo no hago nada, yo estoy trabajando por ellos todos los días. No puedo ni enterrar a mi niña, no sé dónde están mis dos hijos. Eso no es justo”, reclamó.
La fiscal Prado explicó que, según el testimonio de las aprehendidas, el perro permanecía en su casa sin causar daños y que incluso jugaban con otros niños del inmueble.
Tras visitar el domicilio, las autoridades recolectaron más indicios sobre el caso, en el que evidenciaron el poco espacio para los animales.
“El hacinamiento y la falta de espacio para cinco perros. Es importante recalcar que se deben cumplir algunas condiciones para que las personas tengan a su cuidado este tipo de perros”, aseguró.
