El derrumbe de dos edificios la mañana de este 12 de abril dejó al menos dos muertos en el barrio de Muzema, en la zona oeste de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro.
Según informaciones de la cadena Globonews, los bomberos confirmaron que hay dos muertos y que dos heridos consiguieron ser rescatados de entre los escombros.
El Ayuntamiento de Río de Janeiro informó que las construcciones eran irregulares y que la zona está controlada por los paramilitares de la milicia.
Según los bomberos podría haber alrededor de 15 desaparecidos, ya que los dos edificios eran residenciales.
Las dos construcciones, de cuatro y tres plantas, respectivamente, albergaban a varias familias en el momento del derrumbe, alrededor de las 7.00 de la mañana hora local (10.00 GMT).
En un primer momento, varios vecinos intentaron rescatar supervivientes entre los escombros, pero cuando llegaron los bomberos se acordonó la zona debido al fuerte olor a gas y al riesgo de nuevos desmoronamientos.
La favela de Muzema está situada en Barra de Tijuca, uno de los barrios más afectados por las fuertes lluvias que cayeron en Río de Janeiro al inicio de esta semana y que dejaron diez muertos.
Las ambulancias y vehículos de los bomberos no consiguen llegar al lugar del derrumbe debido a la estrechez de las calles de esta barriada, que además siguen llenas de barro y desperfectos ocasionados por la lluvia. (RT)
