El Ministerio Público, la Defensoría del Pueblo y el Juzgado de la Niñez y Adolescencia de Pando solicitaron al principal nosocomio de Cobija realizar la interrupción del embarazo de una menor de 11 años. La niña resultó embarazada a consecuencia de que, en reiteradas ocasiones, fue víctima de violación.
A principios de marzo, el Servicio Departamental de Gestión Social (Sedeges) y la Defensoría del Pueblo de Cobija denunciaron que una niña de 11 de la localidad de San Lorenzo resultó embarazada debido a que, en reiteradas ocasiones, fue violada sexualmente de parte de un joven de 22 años.
En aquella ocasión, la menor se encontraba en su establecimiento educativo realizando ejercicios y se desmayó inesperadamente, por lo cual la trasladaron a un centro de salud donde los médicos, luego de realizar la valoración correspondiente, determinaron que la niña tenía 14 semanas de gestación.
