Se informa de que el estallido se ha registrado mientras las Fuerzas Armadas participaban en un tiroteo con sospechoso vinculados a los atentados terroristas perpetrados el pasado Domingo de Pascua.
El 21 de abril se registraron seis detonaciones sacudieron iglesias y hoteles de lujo en distintas ciudades de Sri Lanka, mientras la población cristiana del país celebraba la misa de Pascua.
Los ataques se cobraron la vida de más de 250 personas, y la Policía de país busca a 140 personas que se cree podrían tener nexos con el Estado Islámico, quien se atribuyó los atentados.
