aime Paz Zamora renunció a su candidatura presidencial, frustrado con el proceder del Partido Demócrata Cristiano (PDC).
El expresidente de 80 años de edad explicó que tenía la intención de estructurar su brigada parlamentaria convocando a gente joven y con contactos con profesionales, pero se topó con un “muro de hielo” dentro el partido.
Relató que sus intentos eran rechazados por los militantes de PDC, que se escudaban en los estatutos del partido para impedir las iniciativas.
Paz Zamora dijo que el PDC es un partido chico, pero con estatutos más grandes que su militancia.
Ante esa situación, informó que ha decido dar un paso al costado y este mismo jueves presentar su renuncia como candidato presidencial ante el Órgano Electoral Plurinacional, con copia al PDC.
Argumentó que la candidatura no le llevaba un beneficio personal, porque él ya fue presidente, sino era una oportunidad que desgraciadamente se frustró.
No comprometió su apoyo a ningún otro candidato. Señaló que su intención ahora es constituirse en un referente politico y moral frente a la “tozudez” del MAS y Evo Morales.
Dejó al Órgano Electoral que decida qué pasará con la candidatura del PDC y el partido.
