Con el propósito de incrementar los
recursos financieros que buscan fortalecer el microcrédito y apoyar al
crecimiento de pequeñas y medianas empresas (Pymes) del país, CAF –banco de
desarrollo de América Latina- aprobó una línea de crédito de hasta USD 10
millones para el Banco de Desarrollo Productivo (BDP) de Bolivia, que tiene la
misión de financiar el desarrollo y la innovación productiva local.
En este propósito la representante de CAF en Bolivia, Gladis Genua, y el presidente de BDP, Marcelo Montenegro, firmaron un convenio en el que se establecen las condiciones de esta operación, que hace más fuerte a la entidad estatal financiera boliviana. La línea de crédito será rotativa y no comprometida, dirigida a préstamos para clientes del BDP, avales y garantías.
El Banco de Desarrollo Productivo es una Sociedad Anónima Mixta de intermediación financiera de primer y segundo piso, orientada a la promoción y financiamiento del desarrollo productivo nacional que tiene el objetivo de elevar la productividad, la producción y disminuir los riesgos del sector, por lo que puede otorgar créditos directos –sin intermediación- a las micro, pequeñas y medianas iniciativas empresariales, en condiciones preferenciales. El 80% de sus acciones corresponde al Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia y el 20% a CAF.
“Para CAF es importante impulsar a las Pymes y microempresas, puesto que estas muchas veces encuentran obstáculos en la obtención de financiamiento por falta de garantías. Lo que queremos es que estas puedan obtener recursos para crecer y aumentar su productividad, generar empleos, producir bienes y servicios, y aportar al crecimiento de la economía y en general al desarrollo del país”, sostuvo Genua.
El BDP, a través de sus créditos apoya financieramente a sectores como el turismo, manufactura, agropecuario, pesca y acuicultura, además ofrece capital semilla para emprendimientos productivos, a iniciativas de mujeres, leasing para maquinaria, entre otros.
Las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas representan el 99% del tejido empresarial mundial y son la principal fuente de empleo y riqueza de los países, añadió la principal ejecutiva de CAF en Bolivia.
