Dos profesores de California instalaron subibajas en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México, en una respuesta contundente al presidente Donald Trump sobre sus planes de construir un muro a lo largo de 3.200 kilómetros limítrofes entre los dos países.
Los tres subibajas rosados fueron inaugurados el lunes en una cerca fronteriza que separa Sunland Park, en Nuevo México, y Ciudad Juárez, en México, permitiendo que niños y adultos de ambos lados jueguen juntos.
La idea estuvo en desarrollo durante una década, reveló Ronald Rael, profesor de arquitectura en la Universidad californiana de Berkeley, quien desarrolló el proyecto junto a Virgina San Fratello, profesora de diseño en la Universidad de San José.
Rael dijo que ver el plan cobrar vida fue “una de las experiencias más increíbles” para él y Fratello, y describió el evento en la frontera como “lleno de alegría, emoción y unión”.
“El muro se convirtió en un punto de apoyo literal para las relaciones entre Estados Unidos y México y los niños y adultos se conectaron de manera significativa en ambos lados, entendiendo que las acciones en un lado tienen una consecuencia directa en el otro”, agregó.
