Transporte Aéreo Militar- Empresa Pública (TAM- EP) inició sus operaciones formales la mañana de este miércoles con un vuelo entre las ciudades de Cochabamba y La Paz. La aerolínea, que hizo una pausa de ocho meses para reorganizarse, regresa como una entidad estatal y con el objetivo de mejorar la oferta a los pasajeros.
TAM- EP volará inicialmente uniendo cuatro ciudades: La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz y Cobija. Una quinta ruta a Sucre se implementará dentro de cuatro semanas aproximadamente.
El gerente general del TAM-EP, General de Brigada Aérea Armando Roca, estuvo presente en el vuelo inaugural y durante todo el día volará a los distintos destinos a los que llega la aerolínea.
Roca, comentó que fue una satisfacción el retorno a las operaciones. Luego de aterrizar en La Paz partieron hacia la capital de Pando, donde el aeropuerto se convirtió en una fiesta. «Nos recibieron con banda en Cobija, la gente estaba muy feliz ya que estaban preocupados de no contar con esta opción», contó.
La aerolínea vuela con una nave propia, se trata del BAE AVRO RJ70, con capacidad para 70 pasajeros. Fue adquirido en 2017, bajo la modalidad de “leasing financiero”, con una inversión de más de $us 1,3 millones.
