1.426 familias Weenhayek y Criollas afectadas por el desborde del rio Pilcomayo acceden a una fuente laboral a través de la firma de una carta de entendimiento interinstitucional entre el Programa Mundial de Alimentos (PMA), el Gobierno municipal y regional en el muncipio de Yacuiba en fecha 11 de abril.
El convenio consiste en otorgales una fuente laboral que consiste en la realización de trabajos preventivos y a cambio recibirán una remuneración de 1.500 bolivianos; 800 se les dará al inicio de los trabajos y el resto a su conclusión; además se les asignará la suma de 60 bolivianos más por familia para gastos de traslado al lugar de trabajo; la cancelación será mediante el Banco Visa.
Según declaraciones del representante del PMA, Julio Verdum los trabajos a ejecutar por parte de las familias beneficiarias comprenden desde ayudar en la recuperación de los activos que fueron dañados por las inundaciones en las comunidades, la habilitación de caminos de acceso, reposición del terraplén en zonas donde hubo roturas, entre otras tareas de prevención y mitigación de daños.
El PMA está destinando una importante cantidad de recursos económicos de Bs.2.169.000 para realizar el pago a las familias beneficiarias; el Gobierno municipal hará una inversión de 1 millón de bolivianos destinado a la presencia de maquinaria pesada en las zonas de intervención y el equipo técnico especialista en el área. Manifestó el Alcalde municipal, Dr. Ramiro Vallejos.
Este acto contó con la presencia del segundo Capital Grande de la Orcaweta, Pablo Rivero y el representante de la Organización Territorial de Base de D’orbigny, Walter Tejada.
