30 de julio se recuerda el «Día internacional de la Trata de personas» instituída por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas, en conmemoración a esta fecha autoridades de la policia, Consulado de Argentina y Bolivia, Migraciones, Defensoría del Pueblo, personal del Gobierno Municipal, regional y estudiantes escolares marcharon en San José de Pocitos (municipio de Yacuiba) en contra de la Trata de personas.
La marcha recorrió la calle principal de esta localidad fronteriza, se puedo observar a todos los participantes portanto un cartel con un mensaje informativo y preventivo con relación a la Trata de personas.
Entre las autoridades estuvieron el Comandante de Frontera Policial de Yacuiba, Cnel. Ariel Tórrez, Director de la Unidad de Tránsito, Cnel. Anival Rivas, Director de la FELCC, Cnel. Luis Escobar, Representante del Pueblo, Dra. María Yanet Paredes, Cónsul de ambos países, entre otros.
Fueron varias unidades educativas que participaron acompañados de los profesores.
Esta actividad ha sido mucho más grande en comparación al año pasado, lo cual significa que hay mayor conciencia y compromiso de trabajo en contra de este delito que atenta los derechos humanos de las personas.
Posterior a la marcha se desarrolló un acto donde hicieron uso de la palabra las diferentes autoridades.
Actividad similar se realizó en el municipio de Caraparí.
Datos estadísticos.
La Defensora del Pueblo, Nadia Cruz informó que Bolivia ha registrado 399 casos de este delito de enero a junio de 2019.
Esta cifra es relativamente alta en comparación a los 618 que se registró en la gestión 2018, 657 en el 2018 y 701 casos en 2016.
De los 618 casos registrados 221 se reportaron en La Paz, 51 en Cochabamba, 36 en Santa Cruz, 27 en Oruro, 20 en Tarija, 13 en Chuquisaca, 12 en Potosí y cuatro en Pando.
